Midterm

 

            This is an up-close, line drawing of a still life that was set up by Mrs. Wheeler. It was done in pencil. There was supposed to be no shading just lines. I drew this piece in one class period in my sketchbook to practice for a bigger, finished drawing.

 

Another drawing from the still life set up by Mrs. Wheeler. It is also another one-day sketchbook drawing. Instead of drawing only lines I shaded also. It was a quick sketch for a larger piece.

 

This is a quick, practice sketch of a dress shoe that was done over a course of about 5 days.  I used a basic number 2 pencil to draw this. I think it was supposed to be a line drawing, but I added a little shading.

 

This was my first drawing of the year. It is a drawing from the planter in the dome. I really enjoyed drawing this plant and found it quite challenging. It was done in pencil and sketched in one class period.

 

Yet another of the drawings from the still life I drew. This was of one of the bust that was set up in the in the still life. There is no shading, only lines. I would say this was probably one of the hardest drawings out of the still life drawing series.

 

This is the second shoe sketchbook drawing. I believe I got the proportions of the shoe better than the first drawing. This one was supposed to be more than just a line drawing.  I believe it took two or three days to  finish.

This is the first home work assignment of the year. I was assigned to draw 2-3 seashells. It took me a while to get the preliminary sketch right. After wards I think I the details in the large shell were probably hardest part of the drawing though.

 

This is my most recent drawing. It was done in charcoal. The background was set in black charcoal and the light parts are erased out of the charcoal. I think this is probably my favorite drawing of the year.

This was last week’s homework assignment, which was to draw the front of the school. I drew it in a basic #2 pencil.. I Liked this assignment because it was a challenge drawing the trees.
